Kick-Off Meeting
Lanciano 18-19th January 2018

Day 1
Morning

The meeting started with a description by each partner of their organisation and their individual role. To have a more dynamic twist and in conjunction with the Art theme the partners described their organisations with reference to a piece of artwork and why that artwork symbolises their company mission. With this information we had a background of the different partners on a professional level.
After a break everybody participated in an icebreaking game “Human Bingo”. Each member had to fill in a form of boxes with a participate’s name of somebody who fits the description written in the box. It gets people up, talking to each other, it is less “serious” and we begin to find interesting information about the participants and their backgrounds.
After filling in paperwork and contracts, a broad outline was agreed of how the different meetings will be structured.

Lunch was had as a group , and the afternoon started with a description of the Museum Mediator. The afternoon activities were then conducted with the Museum Mediator concept in mind so the idea isn’t just an abstract theory but shown to them for real. There was a tour of Lanciano. This was an interactive and lively tour including a treasure hunt to demonstrate alternative styles of offering a tour. After the tour the group participated in the Escape Room concept, again, interactive and for the whole team. The day’s formal activities finished with a discussion and improvement plan. These activities were also important in building up team spirit.
Dinner was had as a group , again, an important part of getting to know people in a more informal setting.

Day 2
Morning
Day two started with a group discussion. Groups were picked in order of everybody’s birthday which , again, meant participants need to get up, and discuss who had their birthday on what day, an energizing activity to start the morning.
The whole team was split into four groups, each group had to discuss the importance of teamwork with regard to a course, sustainability, effectiveness and the trainer on a local, national and European level. As a result the whole group created the following statements to identify key elements for a good empowering course and the quality assurance measurements which can be adopted;
Teamwork improves professional training by learning from eachother, sharing abilities and experiences to achieve the objectives and new competences (key competences) while belonging to a European team.
Teamwork is important for sustainability as it helps future cooperation , dissemination of results through a sense of ownership and inspiration.
Teamwork is important for effectiveness by improving the quality of the project through collaboration, problem solving and risk management.

To conclude the kick-off meeting the whole group met the Mayor of Lanciano for a photo shoot and press conference. This prestigious meeting was reported on through various local press channels and Facebook and Instagram profiles.
